HOW WE WORK

Evolutionary theory provides deep insight into all areas of business, yet so many organisations miss out on the benefits that applying this lens within their programs would bring.
Instead, they lean on pseudo-scientific (and expensive) methodologies and tools that lack any scientific validation.
The key insight of evolutionary psychology is that human behaviour in the modern world
is still largely driven by the exact same psychological adaptations that evolved
to solve recurrent problems in the Stone Age. Culture evolves fast; human evolution is slow.

As part of any engagement, we run workshops and training sessions with your teams.

Our A-B-C model addresses the mismatches between our evolved emotional responses
and the novel modern environments in which they operate.

AFFECT

WHAT WE FEEL
Emotions are the mind’s way of assigning priority labels to behaviours and thoughts by activating specific mental ‘modules’.

BEHAVIOUR

WHAT WE DO
It’s emotions that ‘decide’ which module that will be in charge, and it is modules that then decide what action to take.

COGNITION

WHAT WE THINK
The ‘conscious self’ module doesn’t create any thoughts; it receives them from other modules.
(Yes, strictly speaking, the whole thing is cognition, but ABC is a tidy acronym…)

Eaon’s 25+ year career includes multi-award winning agency spells at Weapon7 in London and Clemenger BBDO in Melbourne and Dentsu APAC.
